I have a theory that this is caused by a botched attempt at patching the resolution, because the ResPatch.exe modifies the engine.dll and might not have had permission at the time to edit the engine.dll, and maybe corrupted it somehow.

I loved playing VTMB back in the day on my old PC that ran on Windows ME. I am really getting pissed off about this. I also tried deleteing the engine.dll and renaming the engine.dll.12, (because there is no vampire_python21.dll or vampire_python21.dll.12,) and I am still having the same error messages come up: I have installed the 8.7 unofficial patch, running steam as admin, set VTMB to run in XP(SP3) compatability as admin, (also disabled visual themes and desktop composition.)
